Well irishrose look at it this way....aren't you glad thou you cut them too BIG, & not too small - that's when I would have cried :XD: - at least they were still usable.

I am very willing to go buy more but I really don't want to cut up my stash fabric. Does anyone else out there have this propblem. I am slightly mystified by this as I didn't have this problem until recently. What is going on?.................
Morning Jem 65, how wonderful to have a sewing room w/all that beauty. It sounds like you are admiring it right now like you would a beautiful pic (which it IS), or a cherished memento. I agree w/a few others on here - go ahead & enjoy "looking" at it like that for awhile, then decorate the room w/pics of the beauty & go ahead & start using it (think about all the NEW BEAUTY ALL THAT FABRIC WILL MAKE).

Have a blessed day & may all your quilts be filled w/love.

I think whats happening to you is that you have to have the right pattern to go with your stash.

As I have read these posts, I think of something I saw on local Craig's List last evening. It was an abstract painting and it looked like these chenille blankets I love to make out of flannels. The asking price was 8,ooo$. Personally would never pay that, however everyone's taste in "art" is different and so if that is beautiful to you enjoy just admiring your fabric.

Yes, I have a terrible time cutting into my batiks. I also have a few that are part of a collection that I just can't make a decision on. That is my trouble....making a decision. I never used to have that problem, but after my husband passed I had so many decisions to make in a short period of time that were unretrieveable, that now I have a problem. I am really trying to get past it.

you are soooooo right....a fellow guild suddenly passed away at the age of 38 to an aneurysm...she never got to ENJOY all her stash....

why have it if you don't use it? Sort of like the old guys who buy cars and never drive them.....sad...

I had this problem for about ten minutes. Now I've realized that quilting, for me, is just an excuse to "possess" the fabric for a while. I admire it, fondle it, then start cutting, stitch it up, and give it away. I LOVE having an excuse to buy so much pretty fabric. Good thing my hubby doesn't mind!

I absolutely love going "shopping" in my stash - I had a problem at lst with not using a pretty fabric because I was going to use it for something else - but as the fabric sat there I couldn't remember what I was going to use it for!!!! So now I'm using my beautiful fabric and making things that I love because I shop "my store" and I have the fabric I love, therefore, I love my projects because I am using my stash - you can't take it with you so enjoy it!!
