Your's too! My "Christmas" Cactus always bloom at Thanksgiving and did this past year as usual. Right now 3 of the 4 are in full bloom again! I decided to call them "Mardi Gras" Cactus! I have 2 red, 1 magenta and 1 white (with buds!) :P

I had one like this given to me by my mother; she is gone 6 years now, and last year I decided to repot it - get rid of some of it - it was way beyond it's capability of surviving in the huge pot it was in - so gave so much of it away and then guess what? I started to lose so much of what was left, I began taking slips to get more started - if I could keep at least one! I prayed I did not lose it permanently - of course I could get back slips from those I gave away - but I'm not one to ask for anything back once I've given it to someone. Well, low and behold I got every slip but one to root - ane now have 5 more! Plus my DH long lost cousin whom was not even known of up until 2 years ago came along and we became closest friends with the same interests; she got one of the plants I gave away - but in return when she'd find a new color of Christmas cactus, she'd present me with one - all we need yet is the yellow one, and I foudn it and ordered it - one for each of us... so now we'll have a glorious aray of beauty when they all decide to bloom. My mother's cactus would bloom from about mid November in time for Thanksgiving till way into spring - past Easter every year; it was gorgeous! Just another story of memorabilia that is alive and growing.

So beautiful! When my husband and I moved (long distance) last year, I gave away all my plants (many that I had for over a decade ... including the Christmas cactus and jades). Your lovely cactus brings back so many wonderful memories. Enjoy!!
