Default I love to machine embroider!

At this time of year, I get busy embroidering linen towels for holiday gifts. Embroidery Library.com and Sudberry House have wonderful and reasonably priced designs.

Decorative linen towel (my daughters hang them on the oven door handle)

    Really cute.
I fell in love with machine embroidery also.
My hubby bought mine several years ago for me and I am
still amazed as it sews out designs. I usually do designs for baby/crib quilts.

Those will make great gifts. how do you get your embroidery so smooth with no puckers around the design?? I have a Bernina 180 E and am still learning.

    I love mine.

Now to find a good inexpensive easy to use program for it.

I tried Embirds free trial, I didn't like how it took over. Every time I opened a picture, Embird was there like a bad habit.

When I embroider something like the linen towel, I do not hoop the linen. I use Stabil-Stick tear away stabilizer and hoop the stabilizer only. It is really sticky and will hold the linen towel perfectly in place. I used to hoop both the towel and the stabilizer and got puckers, so I tried this method and it works every time without any puckers or bumps.

I also use Mary Ellen's Best Press for all my machine embroidery. There is a fabric store in Northern VA that sells it for $5 a bottle.
