Things to do without a machine:
Pull out all the books and magazines and revisit.
Pick out the next project and do all the prep work.
Go to the library to read more quilting books.
Design a quilt.
Practice hand qork.
Hope she hurries home.

I hate when I have to take in my macine for maintenance, I am all over them when I drop it off, how long will it be, any chance it will be sooner.
Since my machine is a lower end Bernina (activa 145) I hint around that mine is one of the easy ones....I know just how you feel.
But I agree with the other poster... time to get some cutting done so when she comes back home you will be raring to go!

Without your machine, you can spend time doing lots of fun stuff. I know it's hard without your machine, but you can get ready for your 'vacation' by getting your projects lined up and ready:
You can:
*organize your fabrics
*cut out future projects
*make any appliques
Can't think of anything else at the moment...

You all gave me some good ideas. Last night I practiced hand quilting, this weekend I can start on some of the other suggestions. Terri, you cracked me up. I was laughing so hard, I nearly fell off my chair. I'm going to take your advice and share the love with my Kenmore. She looks happy to be out of the cupboard, so I think I'll let her feel some fabric tonight, and then to the books, and the cutting and the organizing the stash, and... oh heck, I just have to much to do now! LOL!

I will be going out of town for a couple weeks, so I am taking MY machine in for servicing while I am gone! I don't want it gone while I am home! It is hard enough when something happens and it NEED service NOW! :?

I should have mentioned that this vacation is a driving trip with my sister and we will be visiting relatives in Wisconsin and Minnesota, so there will be little still time to do sewing. Also, I am the driver, so I can't sew in the car. I will take some hand work!
