Thanks to y'all for making my day by admitting to such stuff. LOL! LOL! What a hoot! I left my admission here a day or so ago. I am no longer "getting" old. I am just old. I have done almost all the things you have done... with remotes, telephones, plus a few times plugging in an electrical appliance and turning on a different one and wondering why it didn't work. I love this thread! I love y'all! We could write a book....

I picked up my purse to go to my craft group yesterday and it felt much heavier than usual. Looked inside and found my cell phone And my home phone. You are knot alone. I already knew I was old.

My husband has a stick shift and my car is automatic. I don't drive his often but I never ever forget to put in the clutch, however when I get into my car I try to put in the clutch. You would think that since I rarely drive his car I would be more likely to forget the clutch....never happens. The mind is a strange thing.

My son and I were in Virginia. I was visiting him when he was in the Army. We rented a car, but when night came we turned on the lights and couldn't figure out how to turn off the high beam. We thought we would have to not drive until daylight. We asked a policeman about it and he showed us that it was now on the stick by the steering wheel, not on the floor. That was early '80s.
But we couldn't figure out how to adjust the rearview mirror. Where's the button for *that* mirror? We looked all over, looked in the car's instruction manual (Well *I* did. DH didn't want to.), nothing. So we finally called the dealership. We explained the problem to the young lady who answered the phone. "Umm...you just move it with your hand."

When I'm cooking something, I've been known to put the ingredients back in the wrong place. Non-refrigerated stuff has been found in the fridge, and (worse) supposed-to-be refrigerated stuff has been found in the cab!nets, hours or days later. I'm not getting old, though. I'm just super-busy. Yeah, that's it.
