I just finished Cutting For Stone by Abraham Verghese. It was excellent.

Nicholas Sparks is a wonderful author. You would probably enjoy his books.

Have you read Earlene Fowler? She has a series of fun Murder Mysteries named after quilt block patterns, beginning with number one, Fool's Puzzle, and number 2, Irish Chain. They are widely available, second hand, and passed around among friends. I recommend reading them in order of publishing date, as they are written to follow the life adventures of the heroine, Bennie Harper. You will like these, I promise.
