Is there a local quilt guild near you? If so, JOIN! They probably make quilts for charity and often have opportunities for you to sharpen your skills with workshops and as our Prez sez...charity quilts are a great place to learn and polish your new skills. The recipients are grateful to receive the quilts and very non-judgmental. Good Luck and hugs!

Stay away from that Senior Center "lady"...
Try Quilts For Kids, Inc.
They will send you the kit and appreciate all you do.
Or: find a woman's shelter and donate your lovingly done work there. There are fire/police departments that will gratefully accept your creations, and if you make one of those bits and pieces scrap quilt, the local animal shelters will love you even more.
You can probably donate your preme creations directly to your local hospital....by pass the "judge".
One thing you don't want to do is nothing.

Some people just don't know when to keep their traps shut. You're donating, and that's what counts.
I've been told my work wasn't good enough for some donations, but you know what it doesn't matter. Do what you love, everything will fall into place. I promise.

Sending hugs. First off I know how you feel about rudeness, I've had two bad experiences in quilt classes and I don't like being put down either. There are no excuses.
About mitered corners, I could never get the knack of doing them properly until I saw a Missouri Star tutorial about binding your quilt. Jenny Doan makes it so simple and it works. You can just Google Missouri Star quilt Company and there will be a link for tutorials. Good luck with this and don't give up on your good work.

Don't think of the critics. Think of the person or persons whose life may be touched by your kindness. You never know what you do may mean to someone else. Maybe a big uplift at a really bad time. Maybe inspiration to become a quilter themselves!!!

At the senior center can you sit at another table? Some people are just negative ...............your investment in your items is appreciated by those who receive them. Also the binding thing........are you doing it by machine? Is it purchased binding or have you cut strips and made it yourself? calla
