Show him some "bling" for the groom's suit. Lots of over the top styles, have him and her look at them and pick one out for him, then remark that so he will stand out, the bride should be less "blinking" in the light!!!
In other words, she should wear the gown she has already chosen.

I would leave the dress as is. How about beading the veil. A beaded head piece would be pretty too. You don't have to go over board to have the beaded look. I have sewn wedding dresses for 40 years, and trust me the groom will have other things on his mind on the wedding day then a few beads. Have fun and relax.

However, if it was NOT a tease - this could be a serious clue to "his personality" and she needs to look for other hints of controlling, manipulative or narcissistic personality clues. If she is a "pleaser" then she is probably vulnerable to being controlled. Now is the time to check these things out.
Hate to sound negative or alarmist, but "been there done that" and burned the tee-shirt.

When my daughter married, she bought a sample dress that had a pull in the fabric. We "hid" it by sewing single pearls scattered over the neckline. It added a touch of elegance without distracting from the simple design. Leave it to your daughter though, after all, it is her day.

Beautiful dress! embellishing the waist would be the ONLY part I would add to.
I think the simplicity is beautiful and you see the bride instead of the dress. You perhaps could add a few sparkles to the veil? Not too many.

My 3rd wedding, I chose not to wear white (go ahead and snicker). When I told my DH to be that my dress would be emerald green, which I made BTW, he and his grooms-man went out and rented emerald green tux's. Cost of my dress was less than $50.00. Two tux rentals were $200.00. It was not MY day at all.
