I too had this surgery a few years ago. No problem. I had to laugh tho, the Dr. came into my room wearing waders and rubber boots and I asked if he was going fishing. His reply was "no, I'm doing your knee and we use water with the instrument." You will do great, and it won't take long to get back to going again. Plan a great vacation...

I had mine this past monday!!! Had it on the other knee, two years ago!
It's really not bad. Way better than a knee replacement!!!
The one thing to remember though...is there are no two knees the same, each surgery is different in what they find....do not pay attention to what people say about theirs...each one is different!!!! Some will go to work the next week, otheers may need physio!
    Good luck.

I had that done also. They took out my meniscus. I walked in barely able to put weight on my knee, I WALKED out. No pain, just take it easy for a few days. Do as I say not as I do. The 2 days after surgery I went out to take pictures of some flowers, tripped over a root and landed on that knee. I yelled to my husband, "I've fallen and I can't get up." The only thing that happened was to break open one of the incisions. I washed it, put a bandaid on it and iced it. I am a klutz.

If you think that this could be due to standing on concrete at your job in the past you might be entitled to compensation. At any rate you should be able to get a disability check until you are able to go back to work. Check into it.

I had this surgery and I recovered in a few weeks easily. I remember going out to lunch a few days after. It is always nerve-racking to have surgery. But this procedure has been around a long time now.

I am praying you will be relaxed and recover quickly.

Yes I had the same surgery about 12 yrs. ago and it went fine. Just do what the Dr. tells you and any therapy you need to do. That is very important. Good Luck and my prayers are with you.

I don't think there's anyone (especially doctors and nurses!!) who isn't frightened by surgery. It sounds like it's something that needs to be taken care of now so you can walk in your later years. I hopr and pray things go well for you.

Some people wonder why they waited so long when they feel better. My husband had this surgery, and he had no problems whatsoever.

I had similar last October. My knee was feeling so good after I left the out-patient clinic that I walked on, did not elevate it or give it any special treatment. Then the inside deadening wore off. My advice is to go home and elevate imediatedly and start with the ice. I think my recovery was worse because of this. Also, my daughter went out and bought me some Depends to wear at first because you just can't get up and run to the bathroom when you need to. Slow going. Good luck. You are in my prayers.
