I know what you mean. My husband was scheduled to interview for a job on Monday but got a call on Friday the position was filled. It seems like they should at least interview everyone they had already scheduled!

Job hunting is tedious, depressing work. Keep your spirits up.

I agree that it was very unprofessional of them to ask you to interview when it sounds like they had already made another choice. They lost in this case, because you probably were the best for the job since you had been there before. Keep looking - the next job will be better.

In this climate, anything is possible. One company had me back SIX times for interviews, (six changes of pantyhose, 6 hours of putting on makeup, six times burning my gas) then I found out they did not choose me when the new person answered the phone. I am hoping things recover soon!

Did they go so far as interviewing you or getting references?? I had an experience where one of my bosses was constantly putting me down. She gave me bad references. After she was FIRED, I got a pay raise!

OR

The person you talked to didn't realize the bosses nephew/niece wanted the job.

My son calls that the Friends & Family Employment Svc where he works. They only promote F&F to higher positions. Hang in there & you had reservations, so count your losses then chalk it up to experience. How about starting a Blog, don't give the companies name, but you could chart your progress on finding a job, while getting out your frustrations. You may find a lot of others have been done the same. It's not right; however, they have the last word. Wrong I know, but chin up. It's going to get better, I promise. Prayers on the way for you & your husband to find careers, not just jobs.

It seems like these days if you got a job no matter how much you hate it you better hang on to it. Not sure things are gonna get any better soon. Good luck to all of you that are looking for a job.

I am so sorry this happened to you. Try to be positive and think that when one door closes, another one opens. Hopefully a much better one. The job market is not fair right now & anything can happen that's for sure. Will keep you in my prayers.
