Now, I know I'll look good at 80. I cook with real butter, I make pie crust with lard. And we eat a lot of our own farm raised beef. That's right I admitted to the awful truth, a liking for (oh no!) red meat with a little pork "the other white meat thrown in.

I'm 61 and have been told I look younger (thank goodness no one has said I look older(lol)). I chalk it up to good genes, though. My dad is 82 and still weighs the same as he did in high school (slim), still has his hair, and is still very active. I am hoping that is what my future holds as well; although I admit that while I do not have wrinkles (no botox or surgery either), only my hairdresser knows what my "true" hair color is . I think we are predisposed thorough our genes to be fat, thin, short, tall, etc. and none of that matters if you are a good person and have respect for others. JMHO.

one word: Hormones! After menopause hormone levels drop. The ones you don't get enough of are the ones that keep your skin smooth and not looking dried up. Replacing the good hormones will keep you feeling and looking so much better. HRT is the way to go but only if your Dr. knows what your body needs by blood test every few month to find the right dosage. Most just prescribe and ask how you feel. No complaints, you get the same dosage. My body needs different levels at different times. A specialist is a must for HRT. Not a GYN or family practice.
