I have a machine that has 2 needle locations. It starts with the left one when turned on but the right hand position is the one I use for 1/4 inch. I had been embroidering and took the unit off and went back to sewing on my quilt. Sometime later when I started putting together the row I discovered they weren't 1/4 inch. I said "boy was that a dumb thing to do!" My husband said "how could you have done that?" This is Mr.-set-the-
kitchen-on-fire! asking that. But I am not as dumb as there Miss USA contestants when they were asked 'should math be offered in school?'

If you want to kill more time they also ask them should gravity be offered in school.

It is scary that this generation ...that these contestants belong to... Has grown up to be so ignorant f things we older folks learned in grade school! Oh, do not get me started.... Zipping my mouth, so to speak, and going back to reading another thread!

Sorry about your seam problem, Sculpyfan...

Watch "Are you smarter than a fifth grader" sometime. You'll be picking your jaw up off the floor. I don't know all the answers, but some they miss amaze me. It's scary.

that just had to be fake...really...I could not imagine anyone, in todays age being that ignorant! BUT on the flip side, this is the same generation that thinks we should do away with spelling and cursive handwriting! So who knows...

I think it was a put up job. Those were not Miss USA candidates, but when Jay Leno asks college students questions a sixth grader would know about American history and our government, it's downright scary what they don't know or worse, what they think they know.

Somewhere I have a graduation from the 8th grade questions and answers. At that time, 1877 or so, this testing took almost a whole day to finish, and some of the stuff, well, MOST if not all the stuff asked then none of the high school kids could answer, and the teachers just looked bewildered. I'm going to try to find that again, since I'm still de-cluttering!
Went to a blood drive at a local high school and remembered from last year seeing a notice beside the door where I was standing. It said, plainly and clearly...NO REENTRY. USE OTHER DOOR.

I noticed a couple of teen boys standing there at that time, carefully mouthing the words. Finally one of them said "I think it means we can't come back in this door." And watching them was a teacher, just shaking his head. And this year there was a new sign...EXIT ONLY. NO RETURNING THROUGH THIS DOOR.

    Isn't that sad?
