I have been looking for one too. I don't know much about how threads in a blog (not quilting) work, but if you can find my thread it has a lot of good advice from others answering my plea about Long Arms. What to look for etc. I am considering new because of the warranties and customer service. I don't want to spend thousands on a used one and get stuck with a lemon. Happy Quilting! Peggy Sew

Try before you buy. But get the computer if you want to quilt full time. I've never regretted spending the extra for Auto Sketch and Statler Stitcher for my 14' Gammil. I charge a reasonable amount (not top artsy) and have waaaay tooooo muuuuch work!

I totally agree with this one! My Gammill/Statler is my very best friend in the world! My best advice to you would be to test drive as many brands as you can before you take the plunge. Consider what size quilt you will be doing most often (do you like placemats, or king-sized...?), and then consider your throat space as your primary must-have feature. Once you know how big you need your throat space, then you can think about your table length (mine is 14 feet). Then you can start test driving. Enjoy the process, and take notes. You'll be over-whelmed with choices, and it's hard to remember what each company offers.
