We have a blue jay that does that! Big hard thud! A couple of times we went out to see it lying on the ground, but it would always recover and fly away!

I had a northern mockingbird that would follow me from room to room. Honest! He would sit on the window sill and stare inside or he would try to cling to the mid section of the window and stare in. It was so funny! I took several pictures just to prove to everyone that he was always there. The worst was when he started perching on our new white truck and pooping purple on the extended mirrors. DH had to wash it everyday!
Darn I can't find those pictures. He was cute.

poor silly bird! if you hang a sun catcher and quit cleaning your window so good. maybe he won't do that anymore..

my nephew put on his hockey mask and got a broom..and all heck broke loose!

Old Hungarian superstition -- one bird in the house is bad luck, two birds is good luck.
