Loved Paris, easy to get around, if you are able you can walk to all the major attractions. The hotels are a great source of information. The only problem we had was taking the trains, but we lucked out and a nice man gave us the stations we needed. Have fun!

RyanAir ... check ALL the fine print very carefully. You will pay for everything ... including some fairly hefty baggage fees. They charge extra if you use a credit card, they charge if you use the desk to check in (as opposed to online), they charge if you check in after a certain time prior to the flight ... and on and on. At one point RyanAir was even contemplating charging to use the toilets. Seriously. Expect very low budget - even advert's on the overhead bins ... like a bus. My step-daughter works for RyanAir in Stansted airport at the front check-in desk. These folks are paid bonuses for all the extra fees they are able to tally up. But yes ... if all the extra fees can be avoided, cheap.

Highly recommend taking a train into Italy. Sit back and enjoy the views. Just for giggles I just looked at the TGV train schedule and for a ticket from Paris to Milan is 64 Euro (abt $83 US). It's a high-speed train.
