Default I'm going to Paris- Harriet

I am going to work a quilt show in February in Paris, France! Since I am going by myself, does anyone know how I would go about hooking up with a tour to go into Italy! If I can't find a tour, I will be coming straight home after work.

You could try the tourist information. I think they'd prefer to have you stay in France though. It's quite a bit from Paris to Italy. What part of Italy do you want to visit?

Someone I know just went to Paris then Italy for a mosaic conference. She is out of the country again, I can try to get ahold of her next week and find out how she did it.

Do you want to go with English speakers? ( I mean, "native" English speakers)

What part of Italy did you have in mind? I found this site, departing Paris, but it doesn't have the dates you need advertised, but there may be others. Remember plane travel in Europe is much more expensive than the US - in fact, everything is! Take plenty Euros! A good way to see the country is to travel by train and it's much cheaper, but it will be winter and there could be a lot of snow.

This one looks not too bad, but these are only internet sites, not personal recommendations, although I've been to both countries.

Many of the the large travel agents in the US will have branches in Europe - perhaps they can steer you in the right direction - no pun intended, lol.

Good luck. If I can of any help, let me know.

Collette vacations is a reputable travel company. Their tours start when you land in the county. They will meet you at the airport and take you to the hotel where the group will gather. You would just book flights from Paris to the beginning city in Italy.

The budget version of plane travel is RyanAir. Terrible service and very small seats but reasonable prices. They fly out of two airports close to Paris (an hour by bus from central Paris) and have several destinations in Italy.

Unless you are going to the alps or any other ski resort there is generally not that much snow. But February is generally the coldest month. Don't forget to visit the district just below the Sacre-Coeur, it's where all the fabric shops are.
