i just got a catalog from "sew beautiful"--the site is:
https://store.marthapullen.com/
they have amazing trims, delicate lace, fabrics, etc. they cater to "fine" sewists (i laughed out loud when it came, unbidden, to my home!) but i managed to make my eldest daughter's wedding dress, some 20+ years ago, even without this wonderful catalog. if nothing else, just go and drool over the lace--and the victorian batiste fabric. it is ethereal and beautiful. and they have a silk/cotton blend that is lovely, as well.
happy hunting!

i made my daughters' wedding dress. i used silk organza for the overskirt and a lightweight silk damask for the underskirt. we were on a very strict budget, so the whole thing cost less than 300.00. we were lucky enough to find the fabric at a local small fabric store, i'll see if they will mail order for you if interested. cotton lawn is very light, almost diaphanousyou could use a combinst silk
