One of my quilting friends had a terrible tragedy.

Her older daughter who lives in Australia was getting married in Illinois July 9. The bride, groom and the youngest daughter (age 12) were going to MN to pick up a great grandma and great aunt to bring them to IL for the bridal shower and the wedding. There was a terrible accident. The youngest daughter was killed and the bride and groom are in the hospital with crush injuries to their legs.

Barbie was the most adorable little girl. Her biological father had died of CA when she was five. Her mother had re-married and they have a blended family of eight children and she was the apple of everyone's eye. She was very sweet, polite, well behaved. I am just heart broken and cannot imagine the pain my friend is experiencing. I think this will probably be the worst funeral I have ever attended.

The loss of your child would have to be about the worst thing that could happen. Prayers for this family are sent out as I type.

I have no idea what to say to her and I dont want to just break down sobbing when I do see her but that's what Ive done three times today. We have been quilting friends for about a year. While I have only met her children that are still at home probably a dozen times, I have heard tons of stories about all of her children but especially her middle daughter and her youngest daughter who were the most like her.

Right now she is about 4 hours away dealing with the daughter/fiance in the hospital and their surgeries, etc. Her former in-laws, some close friends and the older children are handling things at this end.

The Lord God will hold you and your friends in the palm of His hand.
My condolences to you and them

I am so sorry. They are all in my thoughts tonight, as are you. May God hold them and keep them in this hard time.
