since you already have a macbook, iPad will be ideal. that way you can keep your ecosystem. no transition for you. i have an iPad min and regular iPad and love them.

I have the Ipad mini (not the newer one) and I adore it--it goes just about everywhere with me.

For the iPad you can then get a AppleTV which runs about $100. Then you can watch things from it up on TV. So I like Craftsy classes and from the app on the iPad I can throw it up on the TV and watch it on a bigger screen in my sewing room.
