I don't want high winds or gushes of rain, just plain slow rain would be nice. Last year was pretty dry also, this year was so hot and try I think we will loose lots of bushes and at least one 45-50YO tree.

I am in East Texas. The wind is really blowing here but no rain yet. Just hot wind. Glad you guys are ok. Katrina was awful.

Louisiana is not the only state that has been affected by past and present hurricanes. The coast of Mississippi was destroyed by Katrina and Mississippi is having a lot of damage done by Isaac too.

It is not over yet. I live in Slidell, Louisiana and we are still faced with flooding. Pearl River will crest at 19.5 feet on Sunday. Flood stage is 14. Home may flood. Business now has water in parking lot a few feet from front door because of rainfall filling up bayous, creeks, and lakes. If dam in Mississippi breaks business will flood. Tried sewing but after many mistakes I stopped. It will be a long next few days. P.S. I have lived in this area my whole life and I have never flooded.

Have been praying for you all who were in the path of Isaac. I can't imagine having to worry about that kind of weather. Know you were lifted up in prayer.

We are awaiting Issac here in Missouri. The weather bug calls for 100% rain today. I hope so. We need it sooo bad. Issac should be tonight. In Missouri we are praying for RAIN. I hope he comes.

I lost my power at 11:00 Wednesday morning and got it back around 4:00 yesterday. It wasn't nearly as bad as not having power for almost two weeks after Katrina and Gustave, but it's still pretty uncomfortable. I'm working on a Dear Jane quilt, so I channeled Jane Stickle while attempting to hand piece and applique without benefit of lights, an iron, and freezer paper and thinking "how in the world did they finish a quilt back then?"

I'm in east Arkansas and started getting rain last night (3/4" at my house) but right now it's blowing and swirling hard and raining. It will devastate the rice crops. Even before we got this much wind I saw many rice fields with flat patches from what wind we got overnight. Only good thing is - it's good for soybeans and hopefully we'll get a regrowth of grass for the cattle before winter. They're even baling rice straw here.
