It is a new world out there. Nothing needs to be gender specific anymore. My 11 month old DGD loves the movie "Cars" and she owns many boys pajamas and outfits because whoever makes the "decisions" about gender in clothing thinks that little girls shouldn't like cars. And then there are dinosaurs. Girls like them too!!! There are many women paleontologists out there that will agree.
While my DD was expecting she made many matching sets of flannel receiving blankets and burp cloths. Walmart has tons of cute nongender specific flannels. She just embroidered the blanket stitch around the blankets and burp cloths. Cute, cheap and easy. And she had like 20 of each made up and that wasn't too many! Babies go through lots of them!
