I only have one suggestion, if you get really nervous, don't stand and speak, sit in a comfortable chair and speak. Bar stools are good, as long as you find one easy to get in and out of. You may not have to use it, but it's there if your legs get wobbly, and sometimes, if you start out being able to sit and relax somewhat, you'll find when you do have to get up to point something out, you'll stay up because you're less nervous. If there are no bar stools, use a regular chair, just be sure it's placed in a location where people can see you.

I added a line about using a regular chair too. Have fun!

What an honor!! The idea of half a nerve pill is a good one, once you get going you'll do fine.
I'm so happy for you!

I have done this many times. You start by saying that you are not a professional speaker, you are just a lady who loves quilting as much as they do. Have a Q & A time. They will have questions and comments. I tell how I got started quilting and some of the mistakes I made while learning. Everybody has a silly story to share. Most of all...relax. It is fun to speak at meetings like these.

I get nervous if we have more than 4 in SS where I am the crafts teacher for 2 & 3 yos.
I will be speaking on and showing my FeedSacks quilts.
I told DH next I would be writing books and soon be a TV personalitly.    Well I can dream can't I?

I have given several lessons to different groups, just researched my subject and found a fun approach to get the group involved. They are all quilting buddies and you get the opportunity to share what you have learned, and may learn something new from them! No grades given!
