    So sorry for your problem, and I can empathize. I chopped about ten pounds of fresh jalapenos one time, then peeled half a bushel of tomatoes. The pepper juice plus the acid in the tomatoes made my hands on fire! And there were other little spots like on my forehead and neck where I'd brushed back my hair. Nothing put the fire out. I tried lotions, creams, milk, everthing I could think of, and even called a pharmacist for advice. I ended up that night sleeping on the couch with my hands in a pan of ice water. The next day the burn was gone, but after a couple of days my hands peeled as if I'd had a sunburn. Now I chop jalapenos in a food processor!

    Ouch - glad you're over the worst of it. Burns can be horrendously painful.
