I love Patterson, and although he does have some recurring characters, you can read all of his books individually. If you like Koontz, you will definitely like Patterson. Good reading to you!

If you like the Steven King books, try the few that
Elisabeth Donald has written. I'll admit that I could not
finish any of them, since I live alone. I went and got my
late hubby's 38 and slept with it for a long time. I don't
like books like that, did I mention that I live alone. And
a big, protective Doberman is very calming to have around.

Maybe I won't read them and I don't live alone.

I believe that I have read all of his books. I keep a list so I make sure that I don't read them again. In the inside of his books you will see a list of the ones that he has written. I have just put my name in at the library for his new book, "Private". The Alex Cross books, I would start at the beginning because the books follow a story about his family when he is trying to solve a murder. Another good author is Harlan Coben. I would go to their websites and see if there are sequels. Harlan Coben writes about a chararter named Myron Bolitar and the first book to read is "Deal Breaker". Hope this has been helpful. I enjoy reading mysteries. Also have you read any Nicholas Sparks? His stories are just a nice read.

I have read most of Patterson's books (love mysteries) but just discovered Michael Connelly mysteries and like his writing even better than Patterson. His plots are very interesting and his writing style is pleasing to read. Highly recommend him.

I read James Patterson - start with the first of the Alex Cross books Along came a spider or the Ladies Murder Club book 1st to die. He has some stand alone books and some written with other writers. I also like Lee Child's Jack Reacher series. (Start with Killing floor) Another author is Catherine Coulter's FBI series about Savage and Sherlock. (Start with The Cove) Enjoy! I listen to books while I sew.

Has anyone tried Sister Carol Ann O'Marie's books? I loved them. Try J.D. Robb - also good!
