Thanks for letting me know, I will let you know when they arrive. I understand about taking mom to the doctors, I do that too, just not as much as before I started my new job. I use to work 3 days a week and now it is 5 days a week

Any weight down is better than adding them

I've been watching what I eat, but perhaps that's the problem I'm still eating. Taboo Tuesday this time is my worst nightmare - PORTION CONTROL. I like veggies, so I may load my plate with them, but then, I have an equally large amount of whatever else I've prepared. SO, this week is portion control. I WILL CUTE MY PORTIONS DOWN. Portion control - I'll have to pretend I'm fixing a plate for a youngster (or something like that) and make it smaller. I've been losing, but not as much as I'd like, but then, if my portions are larger, it's no wonder.

Vanogay, spend a week or so tracking your food and exercise on myfitnesspal or a similar site. It is an eyeopener. I know I lose it on breakfast - it's hard to cook a small amount of oatmeal and as long as it's cooked, I may as well eat it. I decided last night to have eggs today today for that reason - hmmm, great minds think alike. I'm thinking portion control, too. I spent the first 38 of my life having to overeat to keep my weight because I had an overactive thyroid and it seems that was imprinted on my brain for too long. I eat most my meals on a Fiesta ware salad plate which is a nice size or in a shallow soup bowl. I was in two restaurants Sunday that have definitely cut down their portion sizes and it was enough.

I wish us 'enough' this week. Enough food, enough exercise, enough time decluttering (for me), enough time quilting, enough time with family, enough sleep, enough downtime, etc, etc, etc.

I AM losing weight and getting healthier.

The 1st chapter she talks about finding our want to we have the how to down pat. So I'm working on my want to. We are more than a number on the scale

Jodi, tell me more about the 'want to'. It sounds like an interesting concept.

Just walked my 1 1/2 miles in the cold and sunshine. I burned a few extra calories restraining my smaller dog. She doesn't take well to other dogs coming at her. She doesn't start anything, but won't ignore such things. Moira did well with one, but not the one who thought her lip looked like lunch. The woman kept saying, "She just wants to say hello." What???

(teacher problem) I talked to the principal before Christmas. I am just so Done with it and upset I am going to lay it all out to the teacher next week. If I didn't need the health insurance I would quit right now I am so upset. The teacher and I have talked several times. I am keeping a notebook of what is going on for my own protection. Wish me luck. Even chocolate and carbs no longer work to calm my nerves. I am going to talk to my sister in law about how to say this to the teacher. SHe just retired after 20 years as a principal. Wish me luck.
It's tough being in a bad relationship within a classroom. I was a special ed teacher for a long time and only had a few TA's that I had a good relationship with. Being the teacher is also tough when a good relationship is not happening. If you already have talked ask the principal to have a different class. This may be better for all. Good advice may be to make the best of it in the meantime and don't let the stress overburden you. My point is if the relationship is not well all suffer and most importantly the children.

I finished my Mystery train ride quilt last night. I will post it on that site in a few minutes. I am not a scrappy kind of quilter but am happy with how it came out. I had a hard time not using any batiks in it. I decided I needed to do something with all of my non-batiks that I almost never use. I actually found some pretty fabrics I didn't even know were in there. Most of them are from yard sales or given to me.
The classroom is a little better. We had a long talk. Of course pretty much everything was my fault according to the teacher but there seems to be some effort being made. She is trying to be a little nicer but I still need to get out of there. Hopefully soon. It's not looking very promising. Definately next year.
I have exercised 3 days in a row. I have a new exercise CD that is supposed to be good. I need to hook up my DVD player. We switched to satellite a while back and never hooked up the DVD player and I'm not sure how. I am waiting for my DS to get home. Maybe I will try it tomorrow. Judy I agree with you on the enough thing.

Where is everyone hiding? I know I wanted to hid under the covers yesterday with the snow and ice on the roads here in Dallas. Most people don't know how to drive on the road.

I will be making 2 more of the quilt from the scrappy mystery train ride. Have 2 people trying to claim them and they are men. So I am going to look through some of my other fabric scraps to see what I have that will be good scrappy quilts for men. And everything I use will be from my stash. Dont even need to buy batting. I have been buying it when it has been on sale at Joann's over the last year.

SO what are you doing to stay motivated to lose weight or start a new project or are you working on UFO's/WIP's????

Before I start these 2 quilts I have 2 t-shirt quilts I need to finish. UGH I am not having fun with these t-shirt quilts.
