Very funny, butterflywing. I could hear their voices as I was reading ... brought back many memories ... who says we didn't have a sense of humor in the 70's? Waaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy funnier than most stuff you find today!

I'd say it's because these punchlines leave the listener/viewer to their imagination to fill in the blanks/formulate the mental pictures! Unlike today where everyone's everything is hanging out all over and there is nothing left to the imagination.

But that's just my opinion.
