the only thing that got me through YEARS of french class was "the chart"

I drew the chart on every single test to help with verb tense.

    Kinda looks like this:

    I We
    You You
    Him They

and every time a new verb ending showed up i would fill in the endings in a new chart.

It worked for me -- you're welcome to use it.

=) you'll do great! just wait till you start thinking in spanish!!

Drill, drill, drill. Also set DVDs to Spanish when you watch them and add the Spanish subtitles. Best wishes. Let us know how it goes,OK? I am originally an English as a second language student and learned so much from watching movies and reading. Also make the little lists like some one mentioned and maybe study with another student.

Great suggestions thank you. I'm going to check out those websites. I'm making flash cards so that my mom can help me, and I may have to have Telemundo playing in the back ground when my room mate is not in the room... so that I don't bother her studying... Just hope I don't get sucked into those novellas!

I'm thinking of getting the Twilight Books in Spanish to help with reading and according to my teacher I sound like a native... I don't think so, but thats me, I am around those who do speak the language, as in family (step dad, and my sister boy friends family). So I hear it a lot when home or at family's. Plus I'm going to get some of my favorite shows and that that have been dubbed in Spanish and to watch the spanish channels and what not, just to help. Then I might spend a semester in Spain my senior year...

Also, don't forget to get lots of sleep the night before. That always helped me. You'll do great! Let us know how your tests went!

One of my daughters was dyslexic and discovered it was easier for her to learn when she read her lessons to a recorder and played them back often. While sitting in the bath, while just plain sitting in the car, etc. She became a PA (Phsican's Assistant) then went into the family job of carrying a badge. And that took some more education which she could do again with the recorder.

    Have you ever tried this?

And thats how I look at math![/quote]
    ---------------------
I never looked at math if I could help it, so of course failed that one. You actually have to STUDY them, which was a shock in itself, especially with someone who was slightly dyslexic with numbers, not letters, which my daughter inherited from me.

I remember now, one of my Hispanic SILs told me to "First NAME it and then DESCRIBE it". Like La Casa Blanca, The White House, from where all our troubles come.

    Como esta?
But at least you will understand them! lol The local stations in spanish are terrific for study. I am able to refresh a bit of my Spanish by having it on in the background. By the way, bobbin is bobbina in spanish. I used to help non english speaking customers with sewing things.
My Spanish classes were back in the early'70's and some of it still comes back.
