We (meaning natural person credit unions) did not get involved with the bad investments. We did not use TARP funds to bail out our corporate structures-it was all done through our own insurance and not the taxpayers money. Since CUs are not-for-profit we tend to be more stable and here for our members! I love my credit union and what it stands for!

I just listened to a local NPR broadcast on the Womens Center od Charleston (SC). As they talked the WC rep was saying how many (very) small businesses in the community were owed/ operated by women and that the WC has programs in place for micro loans cus a lot of these women couldnt get conventional loans for their business ideas. Micro was anything from 500$ to the biggest they loaned was 50K.
Does your CU allow for small loans to women?? or micro loaning? just curious. share t

Congratulations on the rewards of your hard work. Please ladies lets stop the demeaning of men with the attitude of anything a man can do a woman can do better. We are smarter than that and realize that men have their strengths just as we have our strengths. By the way I love to see what men quilters are doing, they seem have a different eye for design. We don't want to cause any of the men on this site to feel less than just because of their gender.

I in no way mean anything demeaning to men but I have had many look down on me because finances are "a man's world". I am proud I have accomplished what I have and have proven to those men who said women can't do it can. All people have strengths and weaknesses.
