bj, I'm with you. My kids think I need a Kindle. Don't know if it will be on the tree, but probably not this year.

I love the library and use it all the time. The director of the library system is a friend and we joke that I am his best customer. But I travel a lot and it is a pain to carry a bunch of books. Typically, I don't use the Kindle at home but love it for the road.

We have Kindles. It's easy to use and uncomplicated. The Nook is nice too. How different can any of them be? They do the same thing. Buy the one that has good reviews and the best price for you.

I am listening to Audibles right now. I think you can download them on an MP3 player which is a whole lot cheaper than a Kindle if audio is all that you are looking for.

I got a Nook last Christmas and I LOVE it!!! It doesn't talk, though.

For audio books, I use my iPod. I borrow books on CD from the library, use iTunes to copy them to my computer, then plug my iPod to the 'puter and voila! It's done.

While I do love turning pages and holding a book in my hands, we're full-time RVer's and there's no room for a large collection of books (or stash for that matter.)

For audio the Ipod is the the best and the Ipods are inexpensive now. It's easy to us ITunes to download books, podcasts, etc. You'll have to use earphones but the quality is excellent.
