While on your kindle make the following selections :
Menu
Shop in Kindle Store (you may need to turn on your wifi)
Under Featured select Kindle Top Sellers (it will list the top 100 paid books)
Look in the upper right hand corner and see "Kindle Top 100 Free" using the buttons select this option.
TaDa! ;)

Wow, that sounds like a winner and will do as soon as I can. I knew I'd get an answer here.

Try kindle.com and look for the drop down menu for free books.

Sign up for Pixels of Ink to get free daily books. I check every day about 2. Have downloaded about 130 books so far.
Great site.

Remember to turn on WiFi for shopping for books AND to turn it OFF when done or your battery will run down quickly. Otherwise, your battery charge will last a few weeks. Yes, I learned the hard way :-)

you can get free books for the kindle also-just have to look. If you don't have wifii, it's hard to download. I have a Mac and after an hour with the geek squad -I just said I'll download it at Paneras where they havewifi-I like my Kindle but I still buy some books because they just feel better in my hands. ;-)

our local library belongs to a much larger group (our town is only 8,000) and the network has many free ebooks, just ask at your library.

quote=mucky]I just got a new Kindle and am trying to find free books to download. Can anyone help me figure out how to do this? I think I will love it, but after being used to free books at the library I hate to pay. Thanks.[/quote]
