I normally wash mine in the sink...but they did get into the dishwasher a couple of times...still OK...

Contact the company...Kitchen Aid stands behind it's products

Did the children put the mixer's metal beaters in the dishwasher or did they put the whole mixer in?
There should be no problem with the metal beaters being put in the dishwasher but if the whole mixer was put in the dishwasher then that's a big problem. May in Jersey

Mine does too. I have never put my beaters for my KitchenAid Stand Mixer or my KitchenAid Hand Mixer in the dishwasher. I am glad I read the instructions!

I've got the silver Kitchen Aid and I dump everything in the dishwasher and have never had any issues with anything. I'd be interested in knowing what the Kitchen Aid people will say.

Perhaps she should just replace the blade. I'm pretty sure you can purchase replacement parts. I have two Kitchen Aids, one older white one and a newer blue one, I've never had any problems with either but my 'dishwasher' is almost 63 so most of the time I wash them myself after I use them and put them up. That way he won't lose them or put them in tne wrong place.

The newer ones are not supposed to be washed in the dishwasher. Has a reaction from the detergent.

There are certain things I never put in the dishwasher. My good china and crystal, anything from my Kitchenaid mixer and never my pots and pans. I've seen too many things come out really bad from a dishwasher.

I have always put my teflon utensils in the dishwasher. Just recently I tried a new dishwasher powder and when I washed the teflon utensils, they turned white. I suppose it was the dw powder. I am afraid to use them so I bought new ones. Maybe this is what happened to the beaters.
