People are so mean to just drop off an animal. But I guess the mama cats that have the kittens know where to keep them safe.

Catch them while they are tiny with milk and food and take them to the shelter or SPCA where they can find homes. Or keep them and advertise for free. Whatever, as long as you don't let them remain wild. They'll just procreate like the mom, and then you'll have 20 kittens instead of 5. :-)

I had a neighbor that would catch the strays and have them neutered. She was a saint. There are too many unwanted pets now.

We have that problem also...big red barn...needs cats RIGHT, NOT...last summer the cat they dropped off had a bladder infection, know just how she felt..I told DH I can't stand to see her trying to go. (he was feeding her)...I crushed up a cypro and lo and behold it cured it, she started chasing her tail. We took her to vet and had shots and you guessed it, she disappeared 3 weeks later. we have a bad coyote problem which is why I don't want animals to begin with...poor kitty

This is how I ended up with Hobo. He stays outside except to eat and get loves. For that he just comes in the breezeway. He is neutered and a big sweetie. For awhile every stray cat and dog was coming to my yard. It has tapered off since I have been catching and putting them through the rescue. There are a few I am going to have to trap since they are so wild. But they need to be fixed.

Mama took her babies, they are no longer in the wood pile but I am sure they will be back in a few weeks. That always happens the mama brings them here and then when they get bigger they come back. I will deal with them then.

Good luck! I tried to do this once and the humane society wouldn't take them because they couldn't know whether the mom had had her shots. If you have a ferrel cat group, you might have better luck.
