Kitty that doesn't shed?
#21
I used SoftPaws on my indoor cat. The softpaws work great and the cat doesn't mind them at all. I have the vet put them on all at one time and it's easy for me to replace one if it comes off. The first few weeks the cat will pull a few off but then gets tired of doing that. They can still scratch but do no harm to furniture or people. Perfect if you have a young child who wants to play with the cat. I would never get a cat declawed. It's very tramatic and is cruel. My vet won't declaw. Most of the younger vets won't declaw a cat now. My vet said the ones that do, do it for the money.

One of my cats, an all black cat that looks Abyssinian (alley cat from Jamesburg, found as a 5 wk old kitten) doesn't shed. However my other calico more than makes up for it. It's just part of the cat "magic" or charm.

I have a Seal Point Birman kitten which I got from our local shelter. She is a "mutt" cat but looks just like the Birman's. She has medium hair and doesn't seem to be shedding - of course, I have 3 dogs also, so it is hard to tell whose hair is on the floor. But when we pet her, hair doesn't seem to be flying all over the place! Also, my husband who is allergic to cats (get's itchy) doesn't seem to be bothered by this cat.

I saw a new breed that is supposed to be less apt to cause allergies a number of years ago. But I don't recall if it was a low shedding cat too. Quite expensive but still charming and was not "bald" as some of those suggested.
I am a kitty person and my experience has been some shed more than others and they don't come with a lable that say high or low shedding. Getting in the habit of combing your kitty every couple of days does help ever so much. I don't like the fur everywhere but I like having the companionship of the cat. So, I keep the cat and deal with the fur.

I think they are so ugly they are cute, just like the English Bulldog! They are very sweet kitties.
