I've never heard of Carnitine but have been reading that it can help with a fatty liver. Is anyone familiar with it?

my grandaughters were born with a amino acid defiency and they have to take carnitine for that daily, we have been told if they dont take it they could become retarded believe me there not, from what the doctors say its like a form of juvenile diabitis, but there is an article on web md you can search . i havent read anything where it says anything about a fatty liver, probally not much help to you but there is a lot of info on it.

I have fatty liver...or HAD I should say. I didn't change my diet one twit (WHAT -- NO FAT??? not in this life!) and I started taking Milk Thistle capsules.....my #s are now in the normal range and doc says I don't have any liver disease...

i do know that the girls (gd) arent supposed to have a lot of fats and sugar,lol there 7and8 try that one,i would ask dr about it,and read up on it. best of luck

I don't know, probably health food/herb stores......I ran across it last night while surfing and was curious about it.
