Land vs. Cell

We have both. DH is a pastor and we really don't want everyone always calling his cell phone. I don't use my cell phone all that often. I do prefer the clarity of the land line. 2 of our 3 land line phones are the old fashioned kind, work in any kind of power outage.

NO for security reasons, bad cell service in storms...loss of power, etc...
I have AT&T so it is all on one bill!
I would rather save money somewhere else..I am not a huge cell phone user...hate the size, hate the sound, hate always having to charge it....LOVE my cordless phones, but I do keep an old plug in handy when power goes out!
during one ice storm, I had the only working phone in the neighbor by the 2nd day....so NO, I won't give up the land line...
the security issue is also getting worse with the cells now that all the smart phones are out there..my oldest showed me how he easily pick up other peoples, numbers, conversations, etc...on his laptop....trust me...wean yourselves off of the total cell phone usage...it might just save your life!

I've had only cell phone for about 6 yrs and I get sick of it. Once you get a cell phone every one thinks that you should be available at every minute of the day. When I dont answer it they think I'm avoiding them. I'm sorry but I'm not taking my phone everywhere I go, its not staying attached to my person at all times. My children wont even go to the bathroom without their phones. That's the biggest down side for me. Everyone says they dont even know why I have a phone because I dont answer it, and thats just not the case I just have a life and texting and waiting for the phone to ring is not top of the list.

We are seniors. We gave up the cell phone and kept the land line because in Ontario that is the only way for 911 to locate you. You can call 911 with the cell but your locale doesn't register. My husband was concerned about not being able to communicate in case of an emergency.

Would LOVE to give up my land line, but cell phones don't work where I live (on the side of a mountain). So I have a land line for local/emergency calls and then make my long-distance calls on my cell and tell the person who answers to call me back on my land line when the cell drops the call. So much for modern technology...
