I see things I like all the time, but I tend to buy for others, the things I would like to have. I buy lots of quilty stuff, but just about everything I make is for family members. At my age there really is'nt anything I need.

Now that I'm retired, I go to the Dollar Tree and buy cards (made in USA) that are good quality and say the same as Hallmark (made in China). People love to get cards...I send them to friends who are sick, have a birthday, or need a "boost." Then I go once a month to get the solar "wiggly." They sit in my sewing machine window and make a clicking sound as they move. They make me laugh every time I see them. I don't spend much on myself except for good shoes. My size makes it unfriendly to shop for clothes, so that's out, and I'm not interested in carrying a designer's name on my purse. I DO get facials and pedicures. Those are my biggest splurge. Happy shopping!

I stopped buying for daughters, granddaughters when I realized they did not like/want what I bought...ended up in trash, garage sale, or donated.....so I now just buy for ME! Clothes, have enough of, only buy what is needed, jewelry...don't want to be overdressed when at Walmart! But I do like checking out goodwill for odd stemware and cut serving pieces...like putting these on the table at holiday gathering or if I want to go fancy...however I now have a person whom I enjoy shopping for...GGD, age 3. She just loves anything, be it new or a treasure from one of our goodwill treasure hunts, that her Nani finds for here. Quilting things.."anything, anytime!

I hate shopping with a purple passion.... So if I'm out shopping some one has a gun at my head or it's for the cats and dogs or groceries. On the rare occasions I feel that my spirits need a lift I look at all the things I already have -that I hang onto for sentimental reasons. From people in my life and from those that have passed through my life and remembering all the fun and joy we shared together.

I enjoy shopping (store or on-line) for my 4 gr kids. I usually help w getting their clothes. I esp love getting pretties for the girls (3 1/2 and 12 yrs old) , but do a pretty gd job of evenning things out w the boys. I don't get much for myself, have most of the necessities.

My weakness, besides the obvious one of fabric, is books. Love getting them for my Kindle or hard copies! And my other great love is buying for my niece and her family - they are super people.

If I find a super deal at the thrift store for something I need, or a score of half off the remnant price at Joann's, I'm a happy camper!
I am retired and live on disability so I cannot afford to use shopping for lifting my spirits! LOL I do treat myself to jars of those tiny crispy marshmallows to sprinkle on my coffee when I find them at the dollar store tho!! I love those things. I have found them in chocolate, and chocolate mint!
