Don't let your small dogs go off the leash either, even in your backyard. It's a welcomed snack for them.

Our house backs up to Rock Creek, which runs thru DC into the MD suburbs. We have coyotes and Fox. The game warden says bears, small black bears. I have never seen one here. I am from Oklahoma originally and love to hear the animals at night calling to or for their mates.

We have them here is CA too. I live in Orange County in a very populated area - they are still here! We had them right outside our house doing their mating song a few months ago...hard to sleep with that.

They are smart, too. They have ways of luring domestic dogs to their pack for the kill.

I live north of Denver and something attacked our 17 yr old cat so badly we had to have him put to sleep. my husband let him out to potty at 2 a.m. and something hurt him so quickly. either a coyote or perhaps a fox.not sure what. we have both around here and in the City too!!

we live in the country and hear them all the time-they are more afraid of you then you are of them.they never bother people.small critters need to be wary tho.we have dogs but they do not run free-they have a 1/4 acre fenced in area to run.we also have a few wolves in our area.

They used to be here and howling right next to the house. The sound they make when they made a kill. It is sad, they are still here but not as frequent. I used to see them every day by our home but now with all the new neighborhoods they are dissapearing along with the road runner, bobcat, cougar, rattlers and quail. I agree with wolph33 they are not really a threat to humans but they are to your pets.

Tell me where you live- I'l send ALL the ones from my area to you. We had one about 10 ft from my chicken coop which is only about 15 yds from the house. You can have all of them. I promise I will not keep any of those creatures.
I'll tell those govenment officials that you want to do a relocation project to your state.
    Ha Ha Ha LOL
