I live in town close to what use to be farmland until it was divided up. Some one even built a house back off the road and I still here coyotes. I like the sound. No don't want them in my yard but reminds me of growing up. When I was younger I lived in the country bf at the time brought me home and the coyotes started their howling. Lets just say he didn't stay for long. Think it scared him more than a tad!!! still chuckle about that.

We have had coyotes for years. We always had to put our sheep in the barn at night especially during lambing season. They run between the wooded areas. Years that we have had a drought we see them frequently hunting for food. They are wild and I would give them a lot of space.

Around here, we call stray cats and dogs "coyote cookies," hence my need to rescue every stray before dark! We also have armadillos, skunks, foxes, rattlesnakes and road runners, none of which are very pleasant!
The snakes here are more likely to be copperheads and there is a bobcat in the creek bed about two miles from here, but still in the heart of town. And I saw two coyotes standing in the front yard at the house two doors down from my daughter. They are pretty bold and very dangerous to small dogs and cats.
It's good to know that someone in W. Texas is quilting!

I had a plant by the front door and it started to rain. So I told DH I was going to put the plant out in the yard to get some rain. He offered to help and moved the plant to the yard, when he put it down a pigmy rattler came out. Fortunately DH runs fast :) They are aggressive little poisonous snakes. It didn't bite DH. We have rattle snakes here too. People have let their pet pythons loose and they are able to live here but they aren't native to FL.
