Kitchen aids are wonderful but so are the Bosch mixers. My mom has had one for years and loves it. Not sure what one would cost these days. Probably up there with the Kitchen aid ones. Check out consumer reports before you buy and also see if epinions has anything on either any brands.

Happy shopping and Happy Holidays :-D

Thanks for all the comments. It sounds like everyone loves their Kitchen Aides. I know they are pricey and I know I should buy a cheaper one, but I've wanted one for years so I think I'm just going to do it. Merry Christmas to me from me!

I'm off to do some online shopping. :)

Kitchen Aid is the stuff!! I love the one I bought my wife LOL, I do all of the cooking in the family but she loves her kitchen gadgets.

The reason for me going with it is the fact that they last forever and are simple to repair. I can easily replace the brushes in the motor if they ever wear out. Thats what the screw things are on the sides of the artisan mixers, the ports to the brushes.

And I love the cool colors that they have, I got her the orange one at Macys several years back for $179 I think, plus the 30% off doorbuster deal and free wrapping. I picked up a few of the attachments for it and its good to go!

Come to think about it all of our appliances are Kitchen Aid....they make a damn good product!!

I have a Dormeyer 4200. It's either from the 40's or the
50's, and I use it all the time. It' a wonderful machine!

I will tell you...It is Kitchen Aid all the way for me!!!
I bought a stand mixer years ago and it is still going strong. Hubby knows to only buy me this brand.
I have the small food processor, the blender and another item...can't remember right now ;)
But I love the brand...spend the money and buy once!

I have had the same Kitchen Aid stand mixer for almost 10 years and wouldn't switch for anything! Plus, family and friends can buy the accessories for subsequent holidays/birthdays...the gift that keeps giving!

I HAD a West Bend. I used it 7 times and the motor died. If I should ever get another, it will probably be something with a bit more power.
