The Kitchen Aid is the first mixer I ever had that could handle divinity & makes excellent egg whites for pies. It creams so fast it is almost scarey. I have been married for 34 years & have wore out a lot of hand mixers & a couple of Sumbeam & Hamilton Beach but not ole Kitchen Aid. Still going. I am getting the new one because it can handle more dough at one time. Seems like everybody on here gives a thumbs up for it.

Go for a kitchen aid... I have had one for about 7 years. When my grandma was alive she made wedding cakes and had 2 Kitchen Aid mixers. She used them for at least 30 years and they both still work.

I have a Bosch and have put it through the paces for about twenty years and it is still going strong. My daughter has a Kitchen Aid but says she wishes she had purchased the Bosch instead. If you are going with the Kitchen Aid, just make sure you get the most powerful one you can afford. Hers is 350 watts and she says it is not strong enough to mix bread dough with. Hope this helps.

I treated myself to a nice hot red Kitchen Aid back in May and I have no idea how I managed before that!!!!!! I'm in LOVE with my Kitchen Aid!!!!!!!!!!! They can be pricey but to me it was worth every penny I spent on it!

I ordered a Kitchen Aide 5 1/2 quart mixer from Amazon this morning. In a fit of whimsy, I even paid $10 extra to get red. I can't believe I paid for a color. It's so not like me, but I just wanted it for some reason!!

I can't wait for it to show up. Thanks for all the testimonials.

Maybe Admin should try to sell this thread to Kitchen Aide to make some money for the board. :)

I have a KitchenAid too and it is great! I had an Oster Kitchen Center, which I really liked, but once I got my KitchenAid, I gave the Oster Kitchen Center to my daughter. I also have the meat grinder attachment for the KitchenAid, and it works great. My DH and I watch for sales on meat, and then grind our own hamburger. We can sometimes do that for less than half the cost of pre-ground hamburger meat. And that way you can control the amount of fat in it. We make ours extra lean, because we aren't!!!
