Thanks for posting this subject. I went out and cleaned the outside portion of my dryer vent. First time in almost 20 years. It wasn't full, but there was quite a bit in there!
The clothes I washed today dried a lot faster!
I move my dryer out about once a year and clean the hose, and I have one of those long dryer brushes I use frequently. That is probabally the only reason mine wasn't completely stopped up!!

I don't have a problem with lint..but this certainly opens my eyes. Hubby put my washer and dryer in the upstairs bathroom so I wouldn't have to lug baskets around. Only problem is he will have to climb up on the porch roof to clean the vent out. I will hold the ladder.
Peace and Blessings

Secondly, you may have to buy one of those long brushes made for cleaning way down into the machine and/or disconnect the vent pipe at the back and cleaning it, also. The lint filter doesn't catch everything.
Good luck, hope this helps.

You probably need to have your vent checked. Fortunately I have a very handy hubby who was able to replace the accordian exhaust vent hose (in attic) and clean the rigid one attached to the dryer. We also took apart the dryer and cleaned out a huge amount of lint that had accumulated that caused the dryer to burn out the switch fuse in the first place.
