He can really boogie. Amazing fingering for such little hands. And look at Van Johnson and Keenan Wynn, too.

Sorry guys, but that's not Little Richard. Little Richard was born in 1932, this movie came out in 1946. This talented little guy is Frank Robinson. He currently lives in Detroit and still plays the piano.

I'd like to see the movie. Thanks for sharing!

That hand position is a piano teacher's nightmare ( I know, my son is super talented and sometimes plays like that with those flat, straight fingers).
What a delightful video...whomever he is he sure had lots of natural talent.

My Husband didn't think it was Little Richard, not the correct time for it to be him.
He sure was good, whomever he is.

What's the name of the 1946 movie??
Which one is Van Johnson and which is Keenan Wynn?

Fantastic - thanks so much for posting this.
Very impressive that Twisted Quilter not only knew the little boy is Frank Robinson but also followup info - wow!

Yeah, it didn't look like Little Richard. Kennen Wynn is the one with cake or pie on his face. Van Johnson is the "good looking" one. Doesn't matter the technique on the piano; that little boy had a god given talent. And it's those people who lead the way in new "techniques." Whatever works!
