Living in the South....funny!!

too funny.
My daughter and her husband lived near Washington, DC when they were newlyweds. He was stationed there with the Marine Corps. Quite a culture shock for these two small town Texas kids.
Standing in the grocery line one day my daughter found herself chatting with the guy behind her. When she realized this was the first time a stranger had talked to her there she said, "You're not from around here, are you?" "No, Ma'am - Louisiana." That's what they found they missed - casual conversations with strangers when they were just standing around waiting somewhere. That's also something they DIDN'T like when they were younger...
The difference may not have been North/South so much as small town/big city, but they live in Houston now and chat with strangers all the time.
