Well, I don't want to brag (heck, who am I kidding - if I didn't want to brag, I wouldn't be typing this), but about six weeks ago my wife told me about some flannel she'd seen at the LQS. It had sheep on it and was very soft. She said she'd thought about making sleep pants out of it, but ended up not buying any of that fabric.

A few days later, I went to Joann's and bought a pattern, then went and bought the sheep flannel. The lady at the LQS said that EVERYONE who looked at it talked about making pjs out of it, but no one bought any for that.

I worked on the pants whenever she was out of the house. I'll give her the pants tonight.

What a sensitive person, you trained him right. Pat yourself on the back for that one.

That's what I wanted but when her dad asked dd what she wanted to get me for Mother's Day she promptly answered "Flowers". lol

I can't complain though, he buys me a $350 Times of Your Life pass from Threads of Time fabric store/retreat center for Christmas each year. With that, all my retreats for the year are paid no matter how many nights I stay. Since I go for about a week 10 month a year that's quite a savings.

That was a sweet thing for that son to do.
I don't think any of mine would - they MIGHT - possibly - think about getting a sewing machine serviced.
Victoria's Secret is owned by the same parent company as Lane Bryant. That's why they don't offer things larger than they do. They would cut in on LB's sales.

to allay the problem of my DH not knowing what to get me when we were first starting to celebrate holidays together (he did buy me several sewing machines and a house to keep them in--so no complaints), I told him I wanted a charm bracelet. This way, he would always know that he could get a new charm for me. The first charm on it was a heart, with a quilted pattern--which was why he chose it!

One of my DDs sent a $50 VISA gift card for Mother's Day with a notation: For fabric and crafts. It was in a lovely card with real buttons on it and a tiny sewing machine charm. What a sweetie! Glad to hear there are so many great kids and hubs out there!

I have received quilt shop gift cards from both of my boys for the last two Christmas's. Love them both to death. My youngest son and his wife may be moving to the East Coast in a year or two and they want "grandma" to come too and my son will give the realtor the requirement that "the mother-in-law suite will need a room large enough for a 10' quilt frame" before he will buy the house.
