The cruise line was Princess. The ship was the Sapphire.

The length of the cruise is the number of nights on board. Getting two the Hawaiian islands and then sailing from Papeete, Tahiti are the longest number of days at sea.

We prefer the voyages that have many sea days. We did a 7-day coastal cruise aboard the Sapphire in April where the ship is in port every day - ugh!

This cruise was a great way to see Samoa and Tahiti without the long flights.

One couple on the cruise wanted to see Tahiti, but the round trip air fair was $8,000. The opted for the cruise because it was less and they had the time.

If one is going to cruise one needs to LIKE people and like visiting with people. Yes, you can get away from people, but not all the time.

We had some great cruises -- can't do them anymore. Was disappointed in the Carribean (it was 13 years ago) as there was not really much cool fabric appropriate for quilting. Now Alaska was a different story -- I LOVED buying fabric in Alaska -- and the best thing was the folks in the stores were willing to send the fabrics home so I didn't need to curb my buying because of no room. The same when we took a trip to Hawaii (I hit every fabric store on the big island and shipped several boxes home). The problem -- I take the fabric out to look at it but haven't cut it yet.

My MIL and SFIL go on at LEAST 1 cruise a year. They have
taken about 35 cruises so far.

The next cruise they will go going on is either a Mediterranean,
Greek Isle, or Africa I just can't remember which because we was
talking about all of the cruises and such.

Only thing I really remember about that conversation is that they
had to get new passports because they needed to have 6 full pages
open and they didn't have that much space in their books.

Last year they was going to take hubs & I on an Alaskan cruise with
them but my hubs couldn't get the time off from work. But later he
told he was just as happy not going as he has been to Alaska when
he was stationed there (2 different times) while in the Army.

We would love to take a cruise that starts in Florida goes down to the
Panama Canal, and ends in California. Of course we don't even know
if there is such a cruise destination like that.

Princess has a 15 day cruise - FL to LA - through the canal. We just did that one this year and had a grand time.

There is a re-positioning cruise from FL to LA going around Cape Horn in February on Princess.
