He would kiss them and they would just giggle. And it was amazing to watch this beautiful dog get down on his belly to greet to papillions that came into the store. They also had a 5 month old with them that is as big as a full grown German Shepard.

The owner was close. The parent club says that the person that tried to establish the breed started with a Saint and a Landseer Newf. Later, he added the Pyr. He was trying to come up with an all white dog. There is suspicion that the local dogs entered the breeding program too. After his death, his nephew created the dog you see today; the tawny coat and black mask.

Love those giant dogs. If I were younger, I would love to have another one. Our Newf died almost 2 years ago and I still miss her. But she was almost too much for me to handle especially when it became difficult for her to get into the car by herself.
With all the dogs we have, and those that are gone, there is a special love for each of them.
