Awwww, she's a cutie pie. Let her investigate her new home at her pace and let her come up to you, don't force her by holding her. She will feel more comfortable that way until she settles in her new home.

She is sweet just really scared. I think you will have lots of fun playing with her and holding her when she gets more comfortable. Good of you to give her a nice home.

I second that. Find her a couple of real squishy stuffed animals. That gives her something to cuddle with since she is alone. You might find her a really cuddly blanket and a couple of sleep buddies and put them under your bookshelf. In a few days, pull the blanket out and put it next to the bookcase against the wall. That 'corner' effect will give her a sense of security while letting her observe the activities. I keep a cat bed under the entertainment center in the living room. A really fluffy baby blanket and a couple of floppy stuffies. All of my cats - even my old man - will go in the 'cave' and retreat for a while. It is kind of there place to go and get away from the activity of the house.

Good luck with our beautiful baby. She is a Siamese variation. She will warm up pretty quickly once she knows that she is safe. Fair warning - they are VERY sneaky and snoopy and get into EVERYTHING. My mom's oldest is named Indy because she is 'into everything'. Soon she will have you all trained and you will not know how you got along without her.

Pearl looks like my KittyKat that I lost last November. She was a real sweetheart of almost 21 years of age. Pearl should give you many years of love and I know you will enjoy her very much. Love those fur babies.

They let her free and she run to my sewing room and hide underneath my bookshelf.

Is this an indicator she will be a good quilt inspector?

She is very shy and I never had a cat so I guess we'll see how it goes.

I didn't bother her much with the flash. I'll take more pics once she feels more "at home"

Peaerl is beautiful and lucky to have a new home. Maybe later she may get lonely, and you may want to make a visit to the local animal shelter in your city and adopt a playmate for her. Cats are so much fun when you watching them chasing, and playing with other felines. You say you never had a cat before, you will definitely fall in love with cats when you get to know Pearl.
