Snakes are maligned and misunderstood. Here I am with an albino cornsnake. I used to be a snake-a-phobe but education and familiarity can bring respect instead of terror.

One 6 foot rattler was enough for me! The land has since been cleared and that particular snake is history, but we still have some huge limestone boulders out back. Snakes like rocks, you know. I only go there to throw wildflower seeds down once or twice a year. My husband saw a black snake out there this year...they're good as they kill varmints, but still, snakes are critters I avoid. They give me the screamin' meamies!!
