Looking for Pattern
I am making a christening outfit for a baby boy and the mom would like him to wear a scally cap for the event. I have searched the internet for a pattern to make one from fabric, to no avail. Wonder if anyone out there can help me out. I have found crochet patterns, but no sewing pattern. Also, if anyone knows where we could purchase the cap, already made in white, that would be helpful also.

[I] know Martha Pullen who has a show on TV often has christening outfits on the program. Try finding her site on line.
Also, have you looked in the current pattern books in the fabric shops? I made one for my children 50 years ago but have long since discarded the pattern. Good luck in your search.

Here are some websites I found that carry christening patterns (sewn): http://www.heirloomsewingforchildren...-patterns.htm; http://www.smockingstore.com/chris.html.
Did you check eBay for patterns (http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=...3286.c0.m359)?

http://stayinhomensewin.wordpress.co...a-driving-cap/ There seems to be more than one style under "scally cap. This link might be of help. Best of luck.

I have a pattern for a baby cap that you can make, and then turn it into a hanky when they are grown and get married. I also have the poem that goes with it. They did it on The Carol Duval show. If you are interested send me your email, and I will send it to you.
