When she recovered all her young looks were gone and she looked her age. She was very upset that her DD had an admirer that she thought was her admirer. I have searched all of BD movies but none had this plot line.
Try Mrs. Skeffington, not sure of the spelling. Claude Raines also stared.

I think I know the movie you are wanting to find. It was called Mildred Pierce The Essentials. I remember it because her daughter was called Veda. It was Joan Crawford. Hope this is correct.

your local library has a big book of movies. you put in the title, or actors nd it comes up with pertinent info. I had movies drive me crazy too, and this book is a saver of memories.

No. It wasn't as dramatic as this one. The woman is standing up laughing at the water spray and wind from the scene I remember. I rented Mr. Skeffington and will watch that. I hope that is it!

The movie A Stolen Life comes to mind. Bette Davis played twins, good twin versus bad twin, opposite Glenn Ford. It has a boat scene and there are parts with the old man in the lighthouse. Whether or not it is this movie it is a good one to watch.
